I offer classes in smocking, embroidery, heirloom sewing, and silk ribbon embroidery.   All class fees include materials unless kit fees are noted.  Classes change monthly so check to see if there is something you’re interested in.   I will always try to accommodate customers if they are asking for a certain class or a technique they would like to learn.

Please pre-register for classes by calling 513-229-7340 so all your supplies will be ready for you.   Payment can be made the day of the class.

October Classes

Kelmscott:   This will be a stitch along from Handpicked #4.   This three piece sewing set includes a sewing bag, pincushion, and scissor sheath.   It will be constructed from navy blue silk dupioni and lined with a Verona floral print.  The embroidery is done with variegated floss and the stitches include the satin stitch, fly stitch, colonial knot, stem stitch and Palestrina stitch.  This will be a beautiful addition to your sewing collection and the envy of all your sewing buddies.     10/7 10/21 10/28  11-2,   $90.00.   All Materials provided.    Handpicked 4 book and 4″ and 6″ hoop required.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Basic Smocking:  Learn the basic stitches used in smocking along with a few construction tips.   You will learn the cable, trellis, French knots, outline, stem, flowerettes, and lazy daisy stitches on a pleated inset.   At the end of the class you will take home a pleated inset and a geometric pattern of your choice to start a project that can be used as an inset in a dress or outfit.  10/9 11-3  $35.00.  All materials provided

 

 

 

 

 

 

Smocked Baby Daygown:  Using the Old Fashioned Baby pattern we will construct and smock a beautiful baby daygown fit for a princess.  This gown buttons down the front with smocking on either side of the center closure.   The collar is trimmed with entredeux and lace as well as the sleeves.   The hem is your choice, either plain or with lace insertion.   A beautiful gift or something for your grandmothers hope chest.  10/22, 10/29, and 11/5.  11-3  $75.00  All materials and pattern included.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Silk Ribbon Lavender Sachet:  This premade 5″ hemstitched sachet pillow will be embellished with silk ribbon.  In this class you will learn several different silk ribbon flowers along with the outline stitch, ribbon stitch and many more.    A beautiful little project that is easily completed.   10/23 and 10/30   $30.00.   All materials provided.  Please bring a 4″ hoop
