Classes

I offer classes in smocking, embroidery, heirloom sewing, and silk ribbon embroidery.   All class fees include materials unless kit fees are noted.  Classes change monthly so check to see if there is something you’re interested in.   I will always try to accommodate customers if they are asking for a certain class or a technique they would like to learn.

Please pre-register for classes by calling 513-229-7340 so all your supplies will be ready for you.   Payment can be made the day of the class.

The Great Escape:   This will be a stitch along from the Handpicked 4 book.  A Jenny McWhinney design.  This darling design stitched with Appleton wool threads on a wool blanketing with several different stitches  and techniques will make a beautiful baby blanket, framed design, or pillow.   Your choice of project.  Backing is your choice depending on your project and not included in the class cost..  7/8,  7/15,  7/22,  7/29. 11-2 . $80.00 for blanket.  Cost will be less for smaller projects.    Handpicked 4 book available for sale.   All threads needles and fabric for embroidery included in cost.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Alyssa:  This beautiful 18″ doll dress and slip made of satin batiste  will teach you the use of insertion lace, entredeux, pintucks, applying insertion lace, and construction of a yoke dress.  A great learning experience.   Color of satin batiste is your choice.  7/9, 7/16, 7/23.  11-3.   $55.00  Pattern  and all materials included.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Embroidery 101, Jewelry Bag:   Learn basic embroidery stitches while stitching on a hemstitched linen jewelry bag.   Chain stitch, outline, lazy daisy, bullions, and more will be taught.  A simple project that will give you some basic embroidery background.   7/24, and 7/31.  $28.00.  All materials provided.   Bring a 4″ embroidery hoop.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

DanielleBeginning Smocking:  Learn the basic stitches of smocking on pleated fabric,  along with a few construction tips for smocked garments.  You will leave the class with some basic knowledge of smocking along with a pleated inset and a beginner smocking plate. 7/19  11-2.  $35.00  All materials provided.

 

Heirloom Sewing Basics:   This is a note book class that will teach you different fabrics, laces. techniques such as working with entredeux, joining laces, puffing, pintucks and more.   Using your machine you will find the best settings for these techniques.   When you leave the class you will have a reference notebook with sewn samples and notations of what the best settings for your machine are for each.  7/17  11-3.  $28.00.   All materials provided.   Sewing machine required.

 

Stitch In:  Get together and enjoy some time to catch up on your unfinished projects with other ladies.   Tuesdays   11-2   No charge.
