I offer classes in smocking, embroidery, heirloom sewing and silk ribbon embroidery.   All class fees include materials unless kit fees are noted.  Classes change monthly so check to see if there is something you're interested in.   I will always try to accommodate customers if they are asking for a certain class or a  technique they would like to learn.

June Classes


Doll dream dress.jpg (145826 bytes)Doll's Dream Dress:  What a beautiful project to learn lace shaping on.   This 18" doll dress designed by Janice Stewart from a past  issue of Sew Beautiful, has lace shaped medallions  on the hemline, sleeve, and round yoke. A lace edged neckline and sleeves, tied with ribbon thru beading.  Twin needle pintucks are used to frame the front panel and edge the bottom ruffle. A touch of hand or machine embroidery embellishes the center of each medallion along the hem.  Satin batiste or lawn will be used along with French laces.  All materials provided.   6/2 and 6/9.  11-3.  class closed Machine required

Heirloom Camisole:  Something for you.    In this class we will make a camisole in your size out of lawn, satin batiste, or imperial batiste embellished with lace and embroidery of your choice.   Tap panties are also an option to accompany your camisole.   6/23 and 6/30 11-3.   All materials provided.  $48.00  Machine required.

Basic Smocking:  In this class you will learn the basic stitches involved in smocking on a pleated insert.   Cable, waves, flowerettes, lazy daisy and  French knots are included along with basic construction tips. 6/10 11-2.  $23.00

Hemstitched Baby Blanket: This white, pink, or blue cashmere cotton blanket is edged in lace or Swiss Trim attached with a wing needle and machine pin stitch. The holes left in the fabric make an entredeux like attachment. A small embroidered motif in the corner of the blanket finishes the project. A sweet gift for baby. You will learn to attach lace using a wing needle, miter lace on outside corners, and basic embroidery stitches 6/19, 11-3 $38.00  Machine required

Toddler Swimsuit:  Just in time for warm weather. From a back issue of Sew Beautifu, this two piece seersucker swim suit with ruffled bottom is darling.  The top is embellished with either applique or machine embroidery.  One of the cutest things I've seen.  2 weeks 6/17 and 6/24 Materials included.  $30.00

punch needle.jpg (14630 bytes)Punch Needle Embroidery:  We're learning a new technique that is fun and easy.  Karen Holford, who has a lot of experience in punch needle will be teaching this class.  The pattern is your choice to purchase from what I have available in the shop.  Threads are your choice, either overdyed floss or DMC.  You will need a hoop that holds your fabric drum tight, either a Susan Bates, Morgan or a wrapped hoop.   Punch Needles are available for purchase if you need one.  Class fee includes weavers cloth and instruction.  Supplies extra.  6/1, and 6/8  11-2 $24.00

Stitch In:    Get together with friends at a safe distance to share what you have been working on and stitch together.   6/3, 6/5,.  11-2  No charge
