I offer classes in smocking, embroidery, heirloom sewing and silk ribbon embroidery.   All class fees include materials unless kit fees are noted.  Classes change monthly so check to see if there is something you're interested in.   I will always try to accommodate customers if they are asking for a certain class or a  technique they would like to learn.

February Classes  


Stump Work Flower:  Learn basic stump work techniques of making wire petals, and leaves while constructing a flower that is placed in a large antique spool.  These flowers have been seen in Inspirations Magazine.  2/4  and  2/11  11-2  $45.00.    Includes all materials, threads and spool. 

alyssia.jpg (102179 bytes)Alyssa:  This beautiful heirloom sewn doll dress made of satin batiste is embellished with laces, tucks and entredeux.   This is a great project for learning to work with French laces and entredeux.   2/19, 2/26 and 3/4 11-3  $55.00   All materials and pattern included

Shadow Work Embroidered Sundress/or Jumper:   In this class we will make a shadow work inset that will be inserted into a jumper or sundress using the Amy or Mary De pattern from Children's Corner.    Shadow work design of your choice.  2/5 and 2/12. 11-3  $40.00.   Plate and fabric for inset  shadow work included.   Fabric, piping and pattern not included in the price.  

DSCN1516.JPG (52233 bytes)Silk Ribbon Sachet:  This little sachet has pintucked squares, front and back, each with a different silk ribbon flower in it. You will learn how to make a tassle and do twisted cording. This will give you a taste of silk ribbon embroidery with a few little extras. 2/27  11-3 $30.00 All materials included.

Beginners Sampler.jpeg (246520 bytes)Beginners Smocked Sampler:  Using Ellen McCarn's Beginners Smocked Sampler Plate you will learn cables, waves, outline, French knots, flowerettes and lazy daisy stitches on pleated fabric.    You will also learn construction tips and how to read a smocking design graph.   2/6 and 2/13  11-2  $30.00  This can be done on an inset or can be done on a yoke dress front.  Class fee is for an inset.

Wool Applique Workshop:    Have a table mat or Spargo project you would like to work on.    Bring it in and we can work on them together.    I have a new stock of Primitive Gathering kits that are great and Sue Spargo patterns.  2/8  and 2/22 11-2   Kit is your choice.

Stitch-in:  Need help finishing a project such as your cross stitch, smocking, or other project.    Come and stitch with uninterrupted time away from the hustle and bustle of life.  Any project to work on will do. 2/1, 2/29 or 2/15 , 11-2  No charge.
