I offer classes in smocking, embroidery, heirloom sewing and silk ribbon embroidery.   All class fees include materials unless kit fees are noted.  Classes change monthly so check to see if there is something you're interested in.   I will always try to accommodate customers if they are asking for a certain class or a  technique they would like to learn.

sunflower spray bag.jpg (24995 bytes) Silk Ribbon Sunflower Spray Zipped Bag:  A part of our year of stitches.  This black wool bag with exposed brass zipper is embellished with a stunning spray of sunflowers stitched in silk ribbon.   The stitches are outline, lazy daisy, weaving, ribbon stitch, straight stitch and French knots.  Learn how to embroider with silk ribbon while making this beautiful bag that can be used as a jewelry bag, small stitching bag or clutch. Lining is your choice of fabric. 8/15 and 8/22   11-2   $40.00.  All supplies included.

Embroidered Thimble Pod:  A part of our year of stitches: (picture to come) This cute little thimble pod made on even weave linen consist of counted thread stitches, basic embroidery stitches and finishing stitches to complete your pod.   Stitched in bright colors using floss, perle cotton, and cotton broder.  A great addition to your sewing implements.  Seen in Inspirations.  8/20, 8/27. 11-2  $33.00. 

Bishop Workshop:   Struggling with your bishop necklines?    Try constructing before smocking.    You will get a much neater neckline with the first row of smocking perfectly aligned with your narrow bias band.  Learn to pleat a bishop neckline on your pleater with the French seams neatly tucked to the back of your dress.   Try a new sleeve variation that you haven't done.  Front or back opening.  Ellen McCarn's pattern, The Ultimate Bishop is needed for the class.  The fabric is your choice and not included in the class cost.    8/21, 8/28 and 9/4.   11-3   $50.00.  

smocked angle.jpg (174470 bytes)Smocked Heirloom Angel:   Never too early to start on your Christmas Projects.   This silk satin batiste smocked angel makes a perfect gift or for your own tree.   Simple smocking embellished with pearls and edged in delicate lace.   She's sure to be a hit.   8/17 and 8/31  11-2  $45.00   All materials and laces included. Machine required.  

Picture Smocking:    Learn the art of stacking cables to make those fabulous figures in smocking.     You will learn to start and end your rows, do half stitches, and change colors of floss mid-row.     A beginning picture smocking design of your choice will be smocked on a pleated inset that can be used in a yoke dress.   8/24 and 9/7. 11-2  $35.00.  Materials included in cost.

Paperdoll Quilt:    This is a block of the month class using the patterns from Kreations by Karon.  Each month we will construct a doll dress appliqued to a pima broadcloth square and sashed with a coordinating fabric. Some are smocked, some are not.   This is a good start to beginning smocking.  Each month is different.     8/14 11-2  $23.00.     For those who just need to finish squares, please come for help.

Stitch-in:  Need help finishing a project such as your cross stitch, smocking, needleroll or other project.    Come and stitch with uninterrupted time away from the hustle and bustle of life.  Any project to work on will do.  8/1, 8/8, 8/29 11-2  No charge.
