I offer classes in smocking, embroidery, heirloom sewing and silk ribbon embroidery.   All class fees include materials unless kit fees are noted.  Classes change monthly so check to see if there is something you're interested in.   I will always try to accommodate customers if they are asking for a certain class or a  technique they would like to learn.

Smocking Basics:  You will learn to do basic smocking stitches on a pleated inset that will teach you  cable, waves, flowerettes, French knots, and lazy daisy, outline,  stem stitch as well as how to read a smocking graph and construction tips.  5/10 11-2  $22.00.

Wool Embroidered Lap Blanket:  Made from Australian Wool Blanketing this lap blanket 30 x 45 is embellished with a  sheep standing in a wool embroidered garden. Many new stitches will be taught using wool and floss including working the sheep on a slip that is appliqued to the blanket, blanket stitch  flowers, fly stitch leaves, granitos, French knots, and more.  A beautiful design from Inspirations 17.   Kit includes blanketing, and floss and instructions.   Backing for the blanket is your choice and not included in the kit. 5/9 and 5/23 11-2   Class is closed

Wsbtrfly.jpg (8705 bytes)Baby Butterflies: This darling dress from Wendy Schoen features shadow work embroidered front skirt and center front band, a scalloped Madeira hem line, tatting to band, collar and angle sleeve. This is a labor intensive dress but one you're sure to be proud of. Kit includes fabric, floss, pattern, thread, tatting, and buttons. 3 weeks, 5/17, 5/24, and 5/31. 11-3 $90.00 Machine required for second and third class.

smockers tote.JPG (44406 bytes)Smockers Tote: This machine/hand smocking class will be constructing a tote bag from Kathy Awender's pattern with a smocked front pocket. Inside is a notebook for your project directions, scissor pocket, and needlebook. For this class you will need to buy coordinating fabric of high quality quilting cotton. 3/4 yd for main bag, 3/4 yd for lining, 3/8 yd for smocked pocket. All other supplies and pleating will be furnished. Machine required. This will be a 3 week project extending into June  Saturday 5/13,  5/27. 11-3 $45.00

Embroidered Initial Tea towel. Learn basic embroidery skills while making an exquisite embroidered intial on a beautiful white linen tea towel using letters from Christine Harris' Initials book. 5/18 and 5/25 11-2 $25.00

summertime Sampler.jpg (8769 bytes)Wool applique wall hanging: This is a new class that will teach you to applique with wool. Most of this is done by hand and we will be adding embellishments over what the pattern calls for or you can follow the pattern. Pattern is Summertime Sampler by Erica Kaprow. Lets be creative. Wool and specialty threads are included in the cost of the class. Design for your wall hanging is your choice from the collection of squares included in the pattern. Saturdays 5/20, 6/3 11-2 $15.00 for the pattern, $20.00 per square for supplies. $5.00 for class time.

Home Sweet Home Sewing Box:  We will work on this project together.  This will be a monthly class and you can work at your own speed.   I will be there to help you with embroidery stitches and construction.  5/30. 11-2pm.  Class is closed.

Stitch-in:  Need help finishing a project such as your wool squares, smocking, quilt squares or other project.    Come and stitch with uninterrupted time away from the hustle and bustle of life.  Any project to work on will do. 5/4, 5/6 5/16  11-2  No charge.
