Classes:

I offer classes in smocking, embroidery, heirloom sewing and silk ribbon embroidery.   All class fees include materials unless kit fees are noted.  Classes change monthly so check to see if there is something you're interested in.   I will always try to accommodate customers if they are asking for a certain class or a  technique they would like to learn.

Plbrooke.jpg (97902 bytes)Baby Brooke:   Bishop variation:  This angel sleeve bishop features a contrasting shaped sleeve band and hem band joined with lace insertion and edged with lace edging.  Feather stitch embroidery embellishes the hem and sleeve along with a shadow worked bow.   Truly one of the prettiest dresses you will ever make.  Kit includes laces, pleating, buttons, and pattern and class $74.00.  Fabric extra,  price depending on your dress size and choice of fabric.   Machine required.  7/14, 7/21, and 7/28. 11-3.       3 weeks.

Heirloom Sewing Basics:  A favorite class.    This is a workbook class that you sew samples of different heirloom sewing techniques on your machine and place samples into your notebook.   Techniques include French seams, rolling and whipping, joining lace to lace,  entredeux to lace, puffing, pintucks and more.   Thread and needles and fabric included.   A great beginner class or to learn different techniques for heirloom sewing. 7/19 11-2  $24.00  Machine required.

Paperdoll Quilt:    This is a block of the month class using the patterns from Kreations by Karon.  Each month we will construct a doll dress appliqued to a pima broadcloth square and sashed with a coordinating fabric. Some are smocked, some are not.   This is a good start to beginning smocking.  Each month is different.   7/11 11-2  $23.00.

A Taste of Smocking:   Learn the basic stitches of smocking such as the cable, wave, flowerette, French knot, outline, stem and lazy daisy on a pleated fabric.  Construction tips and blocking instructions also covered. You will be given help in choosing a beginner design if you want to smock something to put into a garment. 7/12 11-3  $23.00


Stitch-in:  Need help finishing a project such as your wool blanket, smocking, quilt squares or other project.    Come and stitch with uninterrupted time away from the hustle and bustle of life.  Any project to work on will do.  7/5, 7/7,  7/26   11-2  No charge.
